bfnh started as a name scribbled on the back of a makeshift “jersey” for intramural league play at dear ol’ state. everybody had one of two nicknames at school, “big ____” or “young ____.” typically self appointed, like the best of nicknames, the only time one of the two choices was forced on someone was when the alternative was impossible. “young ran” was young ran because our campus already had an old(er) ran and there would only cause confusion between those who knew old ran deserved the “big ran” over young(er) randy. so, you understand that there was no way we were gonna call younger ran “lil’ ran.” that’s wack.
so, bfnh, as identifiable nomenclature predates a username/ password login challenge box. but, bfnh, the entity was definitely created online and primarily exists there.
it, of course, is a means of distinguishing between the name i use when online, and the name i use when applying for jobs online. the entity’s actions shouldn’t interfere with the individuals non-digital life, right?
